Kyle Bolton, PA Dutch Classic Owner
Our family consists my wife Laura, and our sons Braden and Bryce and me. We live in the middle of 16 acres outside Red Lion Pennsylvania. Along with the birds we show and raise champion English Mastiffs, you can visit that website by clicking here.
Background
I have been racing pigeons since I was 14 and entering one loft races since I was 18. I have been serving the Red Lion Pigeon as President for the past few years. My current location is not in the line of flight for our combine so its not a prime location but as anything with lots of extra hard work we can still fly at the top against many well know top breeders and top flying lofts. One of the main points of our one loft races is the fact that I still race in lofts side by side the one loft pen, with all birds receiving the same food, supplements, training etc. I feel to give the birds the best chance they must be in perfect health and trained as if they were to compete in a combine environment not just homing all to the same loft allowing entrant to judge their birds performance under circumstances similar to racing the birds themselves.
My own results while doing the one loft race was 2007 won IF champion old birds, 1st club overall average speed and 1st combine overall average speed, bred and raced IF hall of fame bird 2008-first club overall average speed, 10th combine old birds vs. 53 lofts, 3rd combine young birds vs. 81 lofts, bred and raced 1st world of wings gold band bird, in 09 first club overall old and young, 2 combine old and young and 2nd young bird average speed against 85 lofts, champion bird and 2nd combine champion loft.
About the PA Dutch Classic
Regarding the PA Dutch Classic - My goal is to have the race be a fair, honest and one of the best one loft races you can enter. We provide weekly updates and online clocking so you can watch your birds performances. When all birds arrive I vaccinate them and cover all bands. They then are placed in quarantine for a week to receive some basic treatment before entering the main loft. While in the quarantine pen they have a large 8 feet by 8 feet by 16 feet high settling cage allowing them to watch other birds exercising and trapping in. We have a proven system to try to keep health at a good level and have a microscope to check droppings as needed.
Our Loft
The loft is 16’ by 32’ with an additional 16’ by 32’ if needed. The ceiling is 10’ to 12 feet with skylights the entire length. Special plastic flooring provides a clean healthy environment and excellent airflow.
